![]() A few weeks later my credit card statement arrives, with an additional charge of $250. Upon check in the staff was not quite as friendly as usual, at the time I didn’t think much of it. I booked the room weeks in advance, and the day before decided to check their current rate and it was ½ what I booked at!!! So naturally I called and requested a rate adjustment, which they reluctantly granted. The room prices seem to vary widely depending on time of year, time of week or whatever might be going on in Boston at the time. Although I'm a Hilton Diamond member, I won't be staying at this hotel again in the future.I have stayed at this Hotel 3 or 4 times, I always thought it was overpriced but it is close to the Garden and therefore convenient for Celtics games. I'm really surprised at the attitude of this hotel's staff. Apparently, I was supposed to know that the remote only works if you are pointing it directly at the bottom right-hand corner of the TV. He got annoyed at me and said that I'm not using the remote control correctly. I called the front desk, and they sent their electrician. After that, my TV remote control wasn't working consistently. When I asked further as to what I should do then, they said that there's shower gel in the shower that I could use. I called the front desk, and they simply said that the hotel was out of hand soap. In my bathroom, there wasn't any hand soap for the sink. Unfortunately, that's kind of where the good stops. The good part of the Onyx is its location, namely its proximity to North Station, Faneuil Hall, and Quincy Market. its about a 25 minute wait." While the poor attempt at humor would normally be appreciated, I just tried to call you multiple times AND I was already hangry. The response "No, but I can put you on a list. Decided to go down to the front desk to request that my car be brought around. Called a total of 4 times with no answer. Day of checkout, I call down to have my car brough over from valet parking. The staff did not seem interested in being of assistance. My daughter made the joke that the owners spent their "per room budget" on the bathrooms alone. The bathroom (while small) was beautiful. The room had tiniest in room fridge which kept everything about a degree less than room temperature. It is obvious that there is a remodel underway, no issue there, but that is no excuse for the poor amenities. The location is perfect if you are attending an event at the Garden. Let me begin by stating that I am a loyal Hilton customer (#brandloyalty). The rooms were over $1600 and for the headaches, honestly, I would probably stay somewhere else on my next visit. My suggestion to management is to clearly indicate that "free breakfast" is limited to a $16 item + 1 beverage (according to the breakfast-restaurant personnel). Anyway, we'll see "free" this really is because a breakfast wrap was $16 and an omelette was $20. And there would be a charge and it would be credited. Another issue, I only book where breakfast is indicated as "free breakfast included" and the booking confirmations all indicate this clearly for this particular hotel however, there was a lot of confusion over this as the hotel had a very confusing policy of $50 per 2 guests per room and if you had 3 guests in a room there was an extra "free" breakfast ticket. Again, the staff were nice and brought us waters as we were tired and the staff eventually got everyone settled. The staff (Noah, Vince) were nice and friendly but the situation of multiple bookings by 1 person for 16 others seemed to either overwhelm them or maybe it was the hotel booking software. Check-in took about 20 minutes but it seemed much longer. ![]() This really seemed to throw them for a loop. I booked 6 rooms using my cc and my account and then I booked another room just for me (according to Onyx's requirement). Our group had just 7 rooms for a brief overnight until we could catch our last flight home the next day. Having just completed a 8 day tour of Iceland and moving the group from hotel to hotel, I was surprised at how confused and inefficient the staff seemed at check-in. OK, I came in with a group of 17 and I was the leader. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable with numerous power and USB outlets. The facilities seemed well maintained and decorated smartly.
